Designed by the Islamic Seminary Foundation curriculum committee, the course focused on connecting principles derived from the Quran and the Sunnah to the best practices of effective non-profit organizational management. Consequently, the course has three major components:
The course was attended by a total of 11 students who represented the diversity of the Muslim community in age, gender, ethnicity and organizational settings. The students included 3 Imams and 2 Chaplains. Initial feedback indicates that the students responded positively to this course that was developed by ISF as a foundational/introductory course for a certificate program entitled Effective Organizational Leadership that ISF is developing. The next educational event organized by ISF will be the 5th Annual Shura and In-service Training for Chaplains and Imams scheduled for March 7, 2015 at Yale University.
