Another award was presented to IIIT for its key and formative role in the establishing and continued support for ADAMS on its activities.
Several prominent leaders from the ADAMS community spoke at the event, including Imam Mohammad Magid, ADAMS Religious Director, Wael Khairo, ADMAS Executive Director, Farooq Syed, the outgoing President of ADAMS, Rizwan Jaka, Chairman of the Board, and others.
Dr. Jamal Barzinji, in his acceptance speech, reminded the audience of the history of ADAMS, its humble beginnings and the sacrifices of a multitude of pioneer individuals and their families to build a model community in Northern Virginia that is now an example in its inclusiveness and respect for diversity, its openness to other faiths communities, its engagement in charitable and relief works and its encouragement of civil and political involvement of Muslims in the affairs of the broader American Society. He commended the leadership of ADAMS, particularly Imam Mohammad Magid for his exemplary role and stewardship.
Dr. Abubaker AlShingieti, Executive Director of IIIT, USA, accepted the ADAMS Award on behalf of IIIT and thanked ADAMS Board of Trustees for their recognition of the special relationship between IIIT and ADAMS and pledged to continue the relationship in pursuit of the common interest of ADAMS and IIIT.
