The University of Science and Technology (UST) - a private, nonprofit institution in Yemen’s capital city Sana'a, with a number of campuses around the country – has entered into an agreement with International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT) under which IIIT is advising the faculty and administration of UST on curriculum and new program development, according to IIIT vice president Dr. Jamal Barzinji.

“We are specifically looking at their school of medicine, and offering advice and suggestions that will help raise their program to meet international standards. The UST has a clear vision of its future and the potential to become a world class institution. We are happy to be of help,” Dr. Barzinji said.

The University offers graduate and undergraduate courses in engineering, sciences, medicine and law. A IIIT delegation, including IIIT president Dr. AbdulHamid AbuSulayman, visited the University to discuss a plan of action, including the establishment of a center for research in Islamic and social sciences.
