Muslim Women Leaders Attend Seminar on Minority Jurisprudence

A group of 25 Muslim women leaders from around the world attended a seminar on 'Islamic Jurisprudence for Minorities and the Revival of the Higher Objectives of Sharia' by IIIT vice president Dr. Jamal Barzinji at IIIT on July 13. These women leaders, from several countries as diverse as Syria, and Belgium, were in Washington, D.C. to participate in a three-week Summer Program on law and leadership organzied by KARAMAH: Muslim Women Lawyers for Human Rights, headed by Dr. Azizah al Hibri.

The participants of LLSP truly enjoyed, appreciated, and learned a lot from Dr. Barzinji’s presentation and discussion on Islamic Jurisprudence for Minorities and the Revival of Higher Objectives of Shari’a”, said Director of KARAMAH’s Law and Leadership Division Reema Ali.
